Future Daze: Press

The FUTURE DAZE track MOTORCADE 239 appears on the May 2008 edition of FUTURE MUSIC magazine.

Opening positive quote - "Rather ironically Future Daze sound an awful lot like a daze from the past. Not in a bad way - it's Kraftwerk-style intro melts into a vocoded meody and luch strings fill the gaps". They did also say "When the beat does kick in, the track has a log going for it, but it does meander a little bit around that point before it gets there". - Well, as it's an extended remix it is meant to meander a little

"The female vocal is dealt with really well during the breakdowns the effect are very good". A minor point at the end "Maybe try to seperate the elements a little more during the chorus".

Overall a good review I feel. Not bad for a first demo review

The magazine includes 10 demos on the DVD and the top 4 are included as the main featured artists and each get their own section. You can hear the track and visit the website directly from the page. They also included the artwork for the track. I'm please to say the FUTURE DAZE track is included in the top four with it's own section - (Screenshot below from the magazine DVD)

STANDING STONES - SINGLE OF THE DAY
The interesting thing about today’s song is that it’s called Standing Stones, yet the music itself has a large sense of movement. I haven’t had a really electronic song on in a while and with the update to Logic Studio (Logic that I recently got, I know I’m going to be exploring using synths and other interesting noises created by software in my productions.
In addition to the movement, I’m enjoying the really big sense of space that is being created by several of the sounds within the song. Even with the little listening environment I have on my laptop I can hear how huge it sounds. If sounds jump out of a 15″ Macbook pro like that, then I know that later today I have to throw the mix up on my Genelecs in my studio. If for nothing else but to take it all in. How can you not like music that surrounds you and allows you to sink into it?
The mood is now set for my day. How about yours? The whole CD contains songs that capture you with sounds. Get it. Don’t want the CD? Head to the iTunes link. Don’t want iTunes, you can now get full albums via download from CD Baby. The quality is higher than that of iTunes and there’s no DRM. Plus more of the purchase price goes directly to the artist. Future Daze of Metal Beat will thank ya for it.

REVIEW
I have been following with interest the development of the music of Ian Price the musician behind Future Daze Of Metalbeat & School Of Ambience.

Ian produces a clever mix of electronic and ambient music which certainly takes you on an interesting musical journey. His track "Time Is Standing Still" has all the hallmarks of early John Foxx material of which Ian is a long time fan. "State Of The Nation" (available via Myspace and websites) is a full on electronic industrial track. I have been lucky enough to see the video's to these tracks and the imagery works perfect with the music. On the ambient side Ian has produced an hour long piece of music called "Helen's Dream" which works very well as there is enough elements to the piece that keeps you interested in it. As well as this Ian has produced numerous other ambient tracks with highlights being "White Horses", "After The Rain" and "Lost In The Moment - Part 2".
I can recommend you visit Ian's web pages to find out for your self the talent behind the music.
